This year marks my 31st year in the Olympia School District. I have taught first through sixth grades – some in multi-age settings.
I started my teaching career at L.P. Brown Elementary, moved to Pioneer Elementary for several years, and then taught for many years at Margaret McKenny Elementary, The last four years I worked at the Olympia Regional Learning Academy (ORLA) where I taught fourth, fifth, and sixth grades in a multi-age setting.
I'm now excited to begin teaching 8th Grade Social Studies and 7th/8th Grade Health at Washington Middle School.
Family
I live in Tumwater with Carole, my lovely wife of 34 years; and Happy Girl, the best dog ever. I'm the oldest of five children. I have two brothers and two sisters who also live in Washington as do my mom and dad. Growing up we had fun living on the islands of Guam, Oahu, and Adak (one of the Aleutian Islands in Alaska).
Interests
I enjoy reading, politics, traveling, sailing, hiking, kayaking, swimming, sports, and teaching.
